THE SECOND QUARTER AND MAY MADNESS
May was the highlight of the second quarter, we welcomed new clients World Wildlife Foundation (WWF) and Invest Durban while solidifying relationships with old ones such as African Renaissance and Global Labs.
The African Renaissance Festival 2018 was opened by President Cyril Ramaphosa, he highlighted the government’s strategy for inclusive social economic transformation setting the tone for the festival. The message was carried through to the closing concert, which celebrated 20 years of African Renaissance and musical genres birthed in KZN. Energetic performances from Gqom artists, Rude Boyz and Moonchild Sanalley and Maskande, Mqadasi and Magmaqhinga had the crowd on their feet.
Invest Durban, the investment unit of EThekwini Municipality embarked on an investment drive to the United Kingdom. The main focus of the mission was to promote Durban and KwaZulu-Natal as the premier destination for investment. The mission was led by mayor, Cllr Zandile Gumede. Over 65 back to back meetings between Durban project owners and high end British investors and financiers. We wish them every success. Faiza Williams of thoughtFIRE was privileged to accompany the group – it was a whirlwind trip.
We closed out the quarter with an array of events, which included the SAICA Graduation, SATN DHET Writing for academic publications workshop at the Crowne Plaza Rosebank Johannesburg, the KZN DHC Annual Conference, SAMA Annual Conference and the prestigious Standard Bank KZN Top Business Awards celebrating another year of business excellence in our beautiful province.
Thank you once again for your support, we are looking forward to the third half of 2018!
